The Santa Games in Gällivare is an annual and much appreciated gathering of Santa’s from all over the world. The purpose of the competition is to name the winner “Santa of the year” 2009. During the weekend of the competition the Santa’s also meet and greet the children and grown-ups of Gällivare in various places. A Santa parade, the annual Santa deliberation and wish list hand-over is of course a part of this.

2007 the Australian Santa-Dave won the title and we are looking forward to see who will be this years winner. The contestants will be challenged in the following disciplines:

Chimney climbing
Porridge eating
Kick-sledding
Reindeer racing
Santas Christmas eve
And this year’s new challenge will be: Gift wrapping!

All participating Santa’s have to stand up to following criterias;
Santa has to be nice to everyone, especially children.
Santa has to be completely sober.
Santa has to be clean and looking it’s Santa best (red or gray and white)!
Santa can preferably have a big beard, but not a silly mask
